Description of the neurosis

In patients of caucasian origin with this complex, a certain gestalt invariably presents itself:

Etiology and treatment

Differential diagnosis

The psychoanalyst must remove all doubt that another neurosis is behind the symptoms.

Obsessive neurosis

Obsessive neurosis is superficially quite similar to the Carmen Electra complex; however, analysis reveals many differences. First of all, the obsessive-compulsive's neurosis is usually not limited to or even necessarily inclusive of Carmen Electra. The root of the obsessive neurosis is an intense anxiety of environmental uncertainty, whether it be contamination, counting, morality, or cam whores. The obsessive-compulsive is usually aware of the peculariaty of his or her position and apt to find treatment rather than live in denial.

An obsessive-compulsive may have an intense ambivalence towards Carmen Electra as a result of the splitting ego defense mechanism. For those who don't know who David Navaro is .... he is Carmen Electra husband.

David Michael Navarro (born on June 7, 1967 in Santa Monica, California) is a guitarist who has played in the rock bands Jane's Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Currently, Navarro is a member of The Panic Channel alongside Jane's Addiction alumni Stephen Perkins and Chris Chaney. Singer Steve Issacs is also a part of this band. They have finished recording their debut album, and fans are awaiting its release.

Navarro also is in Camp Freddy - a band that plays rock covers for the sake of enjoyment.

Navarro was born to James Raul "Mike" Navarro and Constance Colleen Hopkins. Navarro's paternal grandfather was a Mexican immigrant who was orphaned after the Mexican Civil War. His mother Constance worked as a model, appearing on the television show "Let's Make A Deal". Navarro was the only person in his paternal family not to speak Spanish, as James and Constance divorced when he was 7 and he spent the majority of his time with his Anglophone mother; she was murdered eight years later in March 1983 by her boyfriend, who was arrested many years later after a viewer tip when Navarro appeared on the television series America's Most Wanted. Navarro has two half-siblings on his father's side - a brother and a sister, who are 27 and 31 years younger than him. Navarro has been married three times and divorced twice. He married his first wife, Tanja, in a pagan ceremony in 1990 and his second wife, Rhian, in a civil ceremony in 1994. Navarro married his current wife, model, and actress Carmen Electra, on November 22, 2003.

Navarro started playing guitar around the age of 12 after hearing Jimi Hendrix and formed his first band South Dakota Railroad in junior high (where he also met future bandmate Eric Avery). In high school, he formed the band Dizaztre with Stephen Perkins on drums and Rico Quevedo on bass and vocals. Navarro joined the band Jane's Addiction in 1986 with Navarro playing guitar, Perry Farrell on vocals, Avery on bass, and Perkins on drums. The band became successful and became legendary in the alternative-rock music scene. Personal tensions, however, led to their breakup in 1991. The Lollapalooza festival tour was created by Farrell as a farewell tour for Jane's Addiction.

Navarro then formed Deconstruction with Avery on vocals/bass and Michael Murphy on drums, and the band put out one self-titled album before breaking up. Navarro then joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1993 after the departure of guitarist John Frusciante, and filled the band's great need for a suitable guitarist.

Navarro only recorded one album with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, One Hot Minute. During his Chili Pepper days, Navarro also guested along with Flea on Alanis Morrisette's 1996 Jagged Little Pill album.

Because at that point he wanted to focus on his upcoming solo project, Spread, and was not interested in recording and touring with the Peppers, and also because the band's chemistry was not working well anymore, Navarro left the band in 1998. Relations between Navarro and the band (particularly Ant) deteriorated to such a point that upon his leaving, the other members purportedly mailed their own excrement to him.

He kept working on the Spread album, which at first included Chad Smith from the Chili Peppers. Jane's Addiction also reunited for a few shows in 1997, 1999 and 2001 with Flea and then Martyn LeNoble replacing Avery on bass. Navarro also played bass and guitar in 1999 for the band Nancy Raygun with his then-girlfriend Monet Mazur.

In 1998, Marilyn Manson asked Navarro to play a guitar solo for Manson's song "I Don't Like The Drugs (But The Drugs Like Me)", which appears on the record Mechanical Animals, to which Navarro agreed, earning himself credit for the solo in the album's liner notes.

Navarro also contributed work on the second album Hotel Paper from Michelle Branch, and played guitar in her first single "Are You Happy Now?"

In 2002, Jane's Addiction again reunited and recorded a studio album, with Chris Chaney now playing bass. Following the release of Strays in 2003, Jane's Addiction again broke up in mid-2004. Navarro has since formed a new band called The Panic Channel with Perkins and Chaney and singer Steve Isaacs. They currently are recording their debut album.

In addition to his musical work, Navarro has briefly appeared in two movies, Floundering (1994) and Uptown Girls (2003). Navarro also wrote a movie review column entitled "Movies & Crap" for Bikini magazine with his cousin Johnny (although they referred to themselves as brothers in the column). He has written for Details, Nylon, Ray Gun, and Us Weekly magazines and co-written a photo book entitled Don't Try This at Home. And he also has made several appearances on the television series Celebrity Poker Showdown, playing no-limit Texas Hold 'Em in support of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

Navarro appeared on Punk'd with his third wife, Carmen Electra, after they were both fooled by Ashton Kutcher during a hit-and-run chase. He appeared with Electra in an MTV reality series profiling the road toward their wedding.

In 2004, Dave contributed his guitar ability on Dead Celebrity Status debut album, Blood Music. He played guitar on their lead single, "We Fall, We Fall."

In 2005, Navarro served as co-host of the reality TV show Rock Star: INXS alongside Brooke Burke. During the competition to determine a new lead vocalist for INXS, the exposure and success of the show made Navarro's name much better known among mainstream music fans.

In 2006, he has focused his energies on his new band, The Panic Channel which is made up of himself, Stephen Perkins and Chris Chaney of Jane's Addiction, and lead singer Steve Isaacs. He also has started an Internet radio station called Spread Radio Live, where he hosts non-FCC regulated radio via the internet along with other hosts such as Electra, Messy Stench, and the SuicideGirls' Bee Jellyfish. Dave is now working on a new season of Rock Star called Rock Star: Supernova, which also features Gilby Clarke (formerly with Guns N' Roses ) on guitar, Jason Newsted (ex-Metallica) on bass and Tommy Lee from Motley Crue on drums. They are forming the new band Supernova with the lead singer being selected in a talent competition. The new season premiered in North America on July 5, 2006.

Growing up in White Oak, Ohio, at the age of nine, she was selected for the School for Creative and Performing Arts. While studying there, Carmen began taking singing lessons and practicing her vocal talents, and by her teenage years, she was dancing in musicals and doing her own choreographing for the school's theater.Her ultimate ambition was to go to Los Angeles and sign a record deal.

By the age of fifteen, Carmen was well on her way to realizing her dream, she took her first big step and moved to Minneapolis, where her sister and half-sister lived, and worked as a clothes model for Target department stores.Four years later, she packed up shop and moved to L.A. One week later, she met the artist formerly known as Prince. For all practical purposes, she had just been discovered.Prince persuaded her to change her name to Carmen Electra.

Despite the fact that Prince took her under his wing. Her first album was a dud. By 1993,Carmen's success was the typical story of the flare that finally died. One year after her big break, the name Carmen Electra had been forgotten.

After that Carmen reinvented herself and appeared on the Nickelodeon show, "ALL THAT".Carmen's career was in danger of vanishing, so she made her clothes disappear instead.In March of 1996, Carmen took a huge step forward and posed nude for Playboy.
She also performed in a video for Playboy, "Playboy Cheerleaders", in which she sings the show stopper, "2-4-6-8".

On February 10, 1997 she became the co-Host of Singled Out. Since then she has been in many TV and Movie appearances including Good Burger, Loveline, Baywatch, All That, Baywatch Nights and of course Singled Out.

Since this time, Carmen has appeared more often on the T.V., and even the big screen. Her first movie was Good Buger(1997), where she played a small role, and larger roles in indie movies Starfcker (1998), The Chosen One: The Legend of the Raven (1998), and Starstruck (1999).Carmen was signed on to replace Pamela Anderson on Baywatch. She has appeared in a comic book, appeared as a national spokesperson for Budweiser and recently filmed a small role in the independent feature DUST AND STARDUST.

Carmen has wasted no time at all. She appeared in one of the bigger movies of 2000, Scary Movie. She is also following suit in 2001 with her appearance in Perfume. She dated rapper B-Real of cypress Hill. Carmen currently lives in Los Angeles. And is also in the running to star in her own network primetime show.

In recent times, Carmen has been in-and-out of the papers as they document her crazy relationship with Dennis Rodman. The two were married in a quickie marriage in Las Vegas while he was drunk. Carmen is constantly on the tabloid pages, mostly for her on again-off again, married, divorced, annulled, or just dating relationship with basketball's bad boy.
